   In case of a sponsorship, if you are a Romania based company, according with the Law 32/1994 and with the Governmental Decision 36/1998, you can benefit of a tax deduction equivalent with your sponsorship, until a maximum of 10 % from the taxable basis.

  Wills


   EVERYONE CAN LEAVE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

Naturally, the interest of close relatives and friends will come first when you are making a Will, but many people leave the residue (or part of the residue) of their estate to a charity. This is called a residuary bequest.  With one pound going ten times as far when providing care in Romania your legacy could help patients for many years to come.
By making a bequest in this way, your gift will keep pace with inflation and will be just as valuable in years to come as it is the day you make your Will.

   HOW DO I CHANGE MY WILL? 

If you have changed your mind fundamentally about who benefits from your Will, or if your estate changes a great deal in value, you may be best advised to make an entirely new Will. We usually suggest that you ask a Solicitor to draft your Will, especially if it is complicated. 

If you are only making minor changes, you can add a short instruction known as a Codicil, to your existing Will. This is a good way of adding new legacies for a number of different causes if you wish.

  WRITTING A WILL

Here is the suggested wording for a residuary bequest should you wish support Association P.A.V.E.L. (Romania):

"I give, to the Association P.A.V.E.L., Sos. Mihai Bravu 311-313, Bl.SB1, Sc. 1, Ap. 1, Sector 3,Bucharest, Romania (Registered Charity Permit: 885/96 ;Registration no: 4/91944 ) (enter the word "all" or the size of the share   ) of the residue of my estate for its general charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Executive Director or other proper officer of the said charity shall be a good discharge for the same".

If you prefer you can leave Association P.A.V.E.L. a set sum of money or a specific gift. This is called a pecuniary legacy/ specific legacy.

 
  Tax Efficient Giving

   Share Giving

Have you ever thought about giving shares to charity?  Many people from around of the world who own shares are not aware that this is a very tax efficient way of supporting your favourite cause.

Many people hold small numbers of shares that may be uneconomic to sell.  Some may have shares that are just gathering dust.  Others may have ‘windfall shares’ as a result of privatisation. 
A few will have a whole portfolio of share investments. It doesn’t matter which category you are in, you can make a big difference to Association P.A.V.E.L. in this way!
 
Significant tax incentive was introduced in Europe, for instance, to encourage people to donate shares to charity.  In most cases, when donors give publicly quoted shares to charity, or sell them to the charity at a price below the market value, they can now get relief against their personal income tax bill. This is in addition to exemption from capital gains tax on the gains they may have made on those shares.  This means that giving shares could be both an act of generosity as well as a shrewd financial decision.

There is a very simple procedure to make a gift of shares to Association P.A.V.E.L. (Romania). Ask for further details in your country.

  Giving Land or Buildings
 

There is a tax incentive that allows individuals to make gifts of land or buildings to a UK charity or sell them at a price below the market value (on condition that they charity is willing to accept the gift).

Relief is given for the market value of the property/land and this is offset against the donor’s income chargeable to income tax in the tax year in which the gift is made. 
For example, in UK, if land valued at £25,000 was donated to the charity and the cost of transferring the land was £1,000, then £26,000 would be offset against the donor’s income that year.  For many people this could generate a significant saving in tax.

This applies to both land and buildings whether freehold or leasehold, providing the whole of the donor’s interest in the property is given to charity (e.g. they cannot continue to live in the property, nor can they donate half of their interest).
Donations of this kind may be rare, but they can produce significant outcomes for patients in Romania.

  Writing a Codicil

Below is some suggested wording for a Codicil to add a legacy for the Association P.A.V.E.L. to your existing Will.

Additional wording may be added to the legacy or codicil examples above to cover the possibility of a name change, merger or transfer of assets to another body.

If before my death (or even after my death, but before my executors have given effect to the gift) Association P.A.V.E.L. (Romania) has changed its name or amalgamated with any other body or transferred all its assets to any other body then my executors shall give effect to the gift as if it were a gift to the body in its changed name or to the body which results from the amalgamation or to the body which the assets have been transferred.

Have Your Will Witnessed.

When you are happy with your Will or Codicil, it will need to be properly signed by you and witnessed. Two independent witnesses are needed, and they and their spouses must be people who have nothing to gain from the Will. All must be present together and sign in each other's presence. A solicitor will ensure that the Will is correctly witnessed.

Here is a form of words suitable for a Codicil to an existing Will.

                                      What are our needs?

    1. To keep the Parents House running, we need financial support to pay the bills (about 400 Euro / month) and the Romanian staff' salaries: of  the administrator and of the bookkeeper. For each of them, at least 200 Euro / monthly, including taxes (for the time being).
      We need also a fulltime manager (at least 600 Euro / monthly, including taxes) and two play therapists / psychologists (for each, at least 300 Euro / monthly, including taxes, for part - time job). For the new create Center of Resources and Services, it will be need minimum three full time employees: Project manager (900 Euro / monthly, including taxes), psychologist (650 Euro / monthly, including taxes) and social worker (650 Euro / monthly, including taxes)
      We need funding for food and transport for those families who can' t afford to pay themselves.

  2. We need office supplies and consumables, also materials for administration, Center, playrooms and House.
The Parents' House has room for 12 people and till now over 650 entrances were registered.

  3. In order to organize nice events (as Christmas, Easter or other events) for these children, are needed toys, games and sweets for about 250 children from 3 hospitals from Bucharest, where are treated children from whole country. It’s need to spend at least 10 Euro / child, for presents.

  4. Also, we need funding or donations for/ of medicines (drugs which are missing from Romanian market and are part of some protocols used in hospitals: Daunoblastine (Cerubidine, Daunorubicine), Actinomycine D (Cosmegen),  Procarbazine (Natulan),  vinblastine (velbe))); help to updated medical apparatus for hospitals and other medical materials; books, consumables, toys and materials for educating the children, for different ages; proper food for children; funding for transport - for the ill children from home at hospital and back.

  5. We need funds for publishing booklets with information for families, about different forms of cancer and different supportive advices.

  6. We need funds to get a mini-bus for children for transporting (as an ambulance) very ill children or who died, of poor families - at home, in province, but also for trips in weekend events. Also, we need funds to buy a small house with garden, for a camp, in a country side area, where children together with their family or other children can spend a nice holiday.

   We welcome any financial help to put in life different projects and any advice that would help us to achieve our aims, also any training for our volunteers or medical staff from hospitals; also, any contact with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, medical supplies and apparatus companies who can help and support us and the oncology and hematological clinics.

   Also, we would like to have a twinning with foreign organization, thus we can co-operate and apply for different projects together.
